Winter Wonderland

Hello everyone

We do not get a lot of snow around Stockton Golf & Country Club, but we sure have seen evidence of some wintry mornings.

The frost delays have been lengthy over the last few weeks with the temperatures reaching as low as 24 deg.
With some moisture from fog mixed in to add to the severity and thickness of the frost and ice, we have witnessed a few white starts to our days.

The greens usually only get the leaf blades a little frosty with a ground frost, but the clear night sky's and freezing temperatures resulting in a few frozen greens recently, which is a hard thing to explain to some members when the sun has burnt of the visible frost.

With temperatures hovering around the 32F until 9 or 9:30am, and the added shaded sections on greens this time of year, makes for some lengthy delays indeed.

We sure do appreciate the patience of the members and quest during this time. Thank you all.

Just a quick picture to illustrate how noticeable foot marks can get with frost traffic, see below

See you on the course.
